Madness will release their eleventh studio album Can’t Touch Us Now on 28 October.
The album, the band’s first since Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da in 2012, is already available to pre-order on CD, vinyl and special edition double CD. The special edition comes packaged with a unique Madness edition of The Greatest Show On Earth, a vintage-style game creation by friend-of-the-band Dee Jay Wheelie bag, where players take to the stage in their very own theatre and entertain one another with 36 special edition performance cards all inspired by the songs and lyrics of Can’t Touch Us Now.
Saxophonist Lee Thompson recently revealed on Twitter that the band’s next single will be Mr Apples, a song which has featured in recent live shows including their Glastonbury appearance in June. This track appears on the album alongside other recent live favourites including the title track, Mumbo Jumbo and Blackbird inspired by Amy Winehouse. Can’t Touch Us Now will be Madness’s first album without the talismanic presence of Cathal “Chas Smash” Smyth, who is still on extended leave from the band after the release of his solo album A Comfortable Man in 2015.
