This week’s big release is Super, the thirteenth studio album (at least, depending on how you count them) by the Pet Shop Boys. Also out today is the new Cheap Trick album Bang Zoom Crazy… Hello and a new compilation The Other Side of the ’80s which mixes tracks from Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet and the Pet Shop Boys (again) with more obscure fare from the Mighty Lemon Drops, Violent Femmes and the Dream Academy… and They Might Be Giants’ Birdhouse In Your Soul which is from 1990, but let’s not quibble. The Thompson Twins‘ 1983 breakthrough album Quick Step and Side Kick gets a vinyl reissue with a bonus disc including the remixes that made up side B of the original cassette version, while Haywoode’s 1986 set Arrival (including the hit single Roses) gets an expanded CD release.
