Flesh For Lulu singer Nick Marsh dies, aged 53

Nick Marsh, singer and guitarist with ’80s goth rockers Flesh For Lulu, has died of cancer at the age of 53.

Although their UK chart career is remarkable for consisting of only one week at number 100 with their 1983 single Roman Candle, Flesh For Lulu are better known in the US where I Go Crazy was a radio hit after being featured in the 1987 John Hughes movie Some Kind of Wonderful.

After Flesh For Lulu split at the end of the ’80s, Marsh went on to form Gigantic and later Urban Voodoo Machine, before reforming his original band in 2013. The following year Marsh was diagnosed with throat cancer and began documenting his treatment on his Facebook page. The disease claimed his life on 5th June 2015; he is survived by partner Katharine Blake and two daughters.
