The remix of Bob Marley‘s Is This Love continues to climb the singles chart, up another four places to 16 this week, while Legend slips three places to number 9 on the album listings. Freddie Mercury‘s 70th birthday celebratory Messenger Of The Gods débuts at 31 ahead of The Wedding Present‘s Going, Going… at 35.
Lots of teaser singles out this week ahead of some major autumnal album releases: Madness return with Mr Apples, Peter Gabriel lifts The Veil and the Pretenders are back with Holy Commotion!, while Bon Jovi release Knockout, another taster for their new album. There are new sets from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (Skeleton Tree), Meat Loaf (Braver Than We Are) and The Monochrome Set (Cosmonaut). Finally New Order‘s 2005 compilation Singles gets a makeover, with some slightly different mixes which more accurately reflect the original single releases, and a bonus track from 2007’s Lost Sirens.
