An impressive display of the power of suggestion this week as ABC‘s The Lexicon of Love II enters the chart at number 5, outperforming all of their other albums with the obvious exception of their chart topping début The Lexicon of Love. In reality it’s not much different to the previous two ABC albums, 1997’s Skyscraping which reached number 97, or even 2008’s Traffic which didn’t chart at all. Nice to see them gaining some well deserved recognition, though. Hopefully the same will hold true for Dexys who release their new album this week, the rather complicatedly titled Let The Record Show: Dexys Do Irish And Country Soul. Also back after a length absence is Paul Simon with a new album Stranger to Stranger, while Roxette return with Good Karma. If you’re into vaguely themed compilations there’s Greatest Ever 80s Road Trip, three CDs hoovering up everyone from Prefab Sprout to NWA, or if you just like nice things there’s a lovely blue vinyl edition of the Thompson Twins‘ Into The Gap out this week too.
