New Releases

After much hype (and a couple of weeks later than scheduled), ABC release their first album in almost a decade The Lexicon of Love II – whether it will come anywhere near to living up to the success of its predecessor remains to be seen. Recently seen on Top of the Pops performing their 1981 hit Is Vic There?, Department S return with a new album When All Is Said And All Is Done. John Foxx‘s recent material is rounded up on a new compilation 21st Century: A Man, A Woman And A City. S’Express release a new album of remixes Enjoy This Trip, while Ministry of Sound have helpfully compiled a 3 CD set of Chilled Electronic ’80s with tracks ranging from the usual suspects such as Pet Shop Boys, OMD and New Order (represented on this ’80s compilation by Regret from 1993), through some less obvious fare from the Cocteau Twins and Yello, to the distinctly non-electronic I Go To Sleep by the Pretenders. Oh, and if you haven’t picked up the Pet Shop Boys‘ single The Pop Kids yet, it’s out today on white 12″ vinyl.
