Elsewhere Mike Oldfield‘s Return to Ommadawn is the highest new entry on the album chart at number 4, and although George Michael’s solo albums are on the slide The Final by Wham! continues to climb, up two places this week to 19, its first week in the top twenty for thirty years.
Two new box sets from Cherry Red collect Fox’s output from 1974 to 1984 in The Fox Box and three end-of-the-decade Hawkwind albums in The GWR Years: 1988-1991. There are vinyl reissues for Billy Joel’s Greatest Hits Vol. I & II and a brace of Roxy Music albums including ’80s releases Flesh + Blood and Avalon. Finally, the first four Dire Straits albums Dire Straits, CommuniquΓ©, Making Movies and Love Over Gold are reissued on audiophile vinyl or, if you prefer, high resolution SACD.
