A mere two months after reaching the top fifty with his Jawbone soundtrack, Paul Weller scores his seventeenth solo top ten album with A Kind Revolution which dรฉbuts at #5 today. Blondies Pollinator drops from 4 to 19 and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds’ Lovely Creatures plummets to 45 from last week’s dรฉbut position of 8, but Iron Maiden’s current tour sends Somewhere Back in Time: The Best of 1980-89 up from 51 to 42. At the lower end of the chart, New Kids On The Block’s five track EP Thankful enters at 82.

Erasure return this week with their seventeenth album World Be Gone on CD, download, vinyl and cassette formats. Foreigner celebrate forty years in the business with an aptly-titled best of album 40 as do The Members with a 4CD set which includes their 1979 and 1980 albums alongside a disc of BBC radio recordings and a disc of unreleased demos. The Art of Noise expand their 1986 set In Visible Silence to a 2CD set with remixes, single versions and demos. Similarly expanded is Paint and Paint, Haircut One Hundred’s 1984 album without Nick Heyward. The BMX Bandits are back with a new album BMX Bandits Forever and there are new vinyl editions of Iron Maiden’s ’90s albums No Prayer for the Dying (1990), Fear of the Dark (1992), The X Factor (1995) and Virtual XI (1998).
