A remarkable display of consistency from Bon Jovi as This House Is Not For Sale becomes their fifteenth consecutive top five hit album, entering today at number 5; incredibly their last album not to reach the top five was Slippery When Wet which peaked at #6 in 1986. Elsewhere Madness drop from 5 to 16 with Can’t Touch Us Now and Queen‘s On Air dΓ©buts at 25.
Still, it must be nearly Christmas as today sees a plethora of new releases including new albums from Sting (57th & 9th) and Cliff Richard (Just… Fabulous Rock ‘n’ Roll which includes a newly-constructed “duet” with Elvis Presley) as well as Bowie Legacy, an entirely unnecessary new David Bowie compilation. Simple Minds release an acoustic album titled simply Acoustic, Animal Nightlife‘s 1985 album Shangri-La gets the deluxe treatment and Thomas Dolby‘s entry in the “Original Album Series” box set stakes takes in The Golden Age of Wireless, The Flat Earth, the Gothic soundtrack, Aliens Ate My Buick and Astronauts and Heretics. Special points for effort go to Crowded House who release deluxe 2CD sets of all their studio albums: Crowded House, Temple of Low Men, Woodface, Together Alone, Afterglow, Time on Earth and Intriguer.
