Chart Watch
Not much in the way of ’80s music in the charts this week, apart from David Bowie still hogging six positions in the album chart with Best of Bowie (#4), Nothing Has Changed (#20), ★ (#22), Hunky Dory (#50), Ziggy Stardust (#52) and Aladdin Sane (#99). Whitney Houston’s Ultimate Collection holds steady at #25, Rod Stewart’s latest Another Country climbs slightly to #30, Michael Jackson’s Number Ones climbs a bit more to #54 and Bruce Springsteen’s Greatest Hits re-enters at #85.
New Releases
Tanita Tikaram returns with a new album Closer to the People while Andrew Roachford releases a set of “interpretations of some classic tracks” Encore. Now essentially just frontman Neil Arthur, Blancmange release their latest album Commuter 23 today. Former Fairground Attraction singer Eddi Reader releases a Best Of and The Cars‘ Elektra Years 1978-1987 are collected in a new box set.
